How to organize brand facts and supporting evidence
A fact is a verifiable statement. A claim is a statement you want accepted. Evidence supports it. A source says where the evidence came from. Every record needs an expiry and a permission. Model extraction is only a candidate.
Facts, claims, evidence and sources
| Type | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Fact | A verifiable statement with scope | Legal name, official domain, product launch year |
| Claim | A statement you want the market to accept | “Best for a team type” remains a claim without a comparison scope |
| Evidence | Material that supports a fact or claim | Official notice, verifiable page, authorized report |
| Source | Where the evidence came from and when | Page URL, report name and date |
Examples explain the categories. They are not a customer archive.
What each record must state
- Expiry: expired facts must be revised and cannot stay current.
- Permission: who may approve external use. Model extraction cannot overwrite an approved fact.
- Language: after a Chinese revision, English must be marked for update and cannot keep publishing silently.
How to organize
- List entities that must stay correct: organization, products, domains and owners.
- Add a source and date to each fact. Keep unsourced items as unverified.
- Send conflicts to review instead of keeping two public versions.
- Record applicable versions and permissions. Customer entry follows the live console fields.
